how was she doing at the moment? well, i could tell you that she was just peachy, but that would be a lie. she was the girl who ran away from her problems and never looked back 'till they were gone. she hated dealing with things because she knew that it would end up tearing her down sooner or later, and that was the last thing she really wanted. when it came to her family problems, she tried her best to act strong for her siblings. she would always tell them that everything was fine and that it was just another problem that would go away right away. but with this problem, she wasn't sure if it would leave them all alone or not. it wasn't like any problem that her family ever had. usually it was her parents fighting or something small like that. it never led to her mother leaving the house though, which broke her heart when she found out about it. but now, she couldn't act strong anymore - she just wasn't able to. she had enough.
it was currently 11:43 on a thursday night, and brooklyn lyric raposo had no intention on going to bed anytime soon, or even had no intention of going to school tomorrow either. her knees were pulled up to her chest as her hazel eyes gazed out at the ocean, somewhat admiring the reflection of the full moon. tears were streaming down her face, and after crying for the last ten minutes, brooklyn had got fed up of trying to wipe them away.
what was wrong with her? everything. from her not knowing what to do when it came to relationships to the fact that her father had another daughter. yes, you read it right folks, he had another daughter, and it wasn't her moms. brooklyn actually had no clue that her mother left for the first few hours. she wasn't home at the time, busy hanging out with logan like usually, and when she got back, she just thought her mother was out with her friends. but, she wasn't. after she asked where her mother was, eric had told her what had happened. she found out about her father's secret, they got into a fight, and she had left and brooklyn wasn't sure on when her mother was coming back. when she tried calling her, she didn't answer her cell phone, probably because her mother thought that her father was calling her instead.
was brooklyn upset about it? hell yeah. she had every right to, seeing as she had a half sister that she never wanted to see in her entire life, and if she did see her, then it wouldn't be pretty. she couldn't understand how her father could do that to her, or even keep that from her for so long. she couldn't understand what the heck was going through his mind at the time, and she really didn't want to know. when she saw her father in the kitchen, or anywhere in the house, she wouldn't speak to him or look at him. she hadn't spoke to him since the morning that mom left, and she didn't plan on speaking to him for a long, long time.
sniffling slightly, brooklyn wiped a few of her tears away with the edge of her grey hoodie, not taking her eyes off the ocean. she just couldn't handle it anymore - she just couldn't handle anything. she was done.

groaning to himself, logan frasier rolled over in his bed. he had been laying there for what seemed like hours, but in reality had only been forty five minutes. he glanced at the red flashing letters of his alarm clock 11:45 AM. clenching his teeth together logan sat up in his bed. he couldn't seem to fall asleep and he had no clue of why that might be. about two hours ago he had been extremely tired and he felt like he was going to fall down and go to sleep right on the floor. but now sleep would not come over him, and this frustrated him.
maybe he needed some fresh air, yeah that was it. he would go and get some fresh air. slipping out of bed, logan put on a gray t-shirt, and through on a black hoodie. he rain his hand through his hair as he searched around in the darkness of his room for his shoes. trying to be as quiet as possible. logan had never been caught sneaking out, and he didn't want to screw that up now. and truthfully he had no clue whether his parents were in bed or not. slipping on his shoes, logan walked over to his window. the seventeen year old unlatched it and slid it open, feeling the cool night air. he noticed that it wasn't very cold tonight, it was warm. with a cool breeze, that created the perfect temperature for going to the beach. logan quietly slipped out of his window and climbed down the ravine vine ladder that his mother had put up below his window for decoration. she had never been able to tell that he had used it numerous times.
logan wasn't sure what drew him to the beach, but he couldn't help but feeling like something wasn't right and that he needed to go there. having nothing better to do, he just walked. until he arrived at the beach, he stood on the sand for a moment. staring out at the ocean, which was lit by the light of the moon. the waves looked black as they crashed against the shore. involuntarily, logan shivered. noticing the eerie quietness for the first time. he kept walking, his blue eyes scanning the sand. hearing something he looked up and saw a familiar looking figure, sitting on the sand. as he neared he noted that the person seemed to be crying. quietly, he took a few steps forward, trying to see who it was. all at once logan recognized her. it was brooklyn. why was she crying? he wondered. he did not see her cry often, she tried to be tougher than that. for her siblings, she never really cried.
logan walked the last few feet over to her and dropped to his knees. "brook." he said softly. he brushed some of her brunette hair away from her face, as he kneeled down next to her. "brookie, are you alright?" he asked, though obviously if she was crying she was not. logan's blue eyes were filled with concern for his best friend. something serious had to be going on for her to be on the beach, late at night, crying.

have you ever had the urge to just scream at the top of your lungs? that was the exact thing that brooklyn wanted to do. that, and to just yell at her parents for everything the did to cause her pain. she wanted to yell at her father for having another daughter and she wanted to yell at her mother for not trying to work it out. brooklyn slowly closed her eyes, letting a few of her tears fall from her eyes, landing on the knees of her grey jeans. she slowly lowered head to rest on her knees, several more tears falling from her eyes.
brooklyn heard someone in the distant, but she didn't bother to raise her head to look at who it was. to be honest, she really didn't care who it was and if they saw her cry. no one ever saw her cry, mostly because she never did in public. brooke never showed anyone her true feelings on things. she always hid them and acted like nothing was wrong when it felt like her world was crashing down on her. she just hated when people tried to make her feel better, cause it just never worked.
hearing her name, brooklyn slowly raised her head and looked up at the figure standing above him. it took her at least a few seconds to actually realize who it was - logan frasier, her best friend and practically the only person she could trust. she didn't know what she would do without him by her side. brooklyn sniffled slightly as she turned her attention to him when he kneeled down beside her. she quickly brought her hand up to her rosy cheeks and wiped some of her tears away. she had never cried in front of logan before. well, she did when she was like, seven, but that was the first time she ever did.
was she alright? no, she was really far from it, but she didn't want to tell logan that. then again, she was already crying in front of him. she let out a deep breath, before slowly inhaling the cold hair that surrounded them. after a few minutes of staying silent, and of trying to calm herself down. brooklyn slowly shook her head, before looking back at logan, tears welling up in her eyes. "no," she said slowly, wiping a few of her tears away. "i just can't deal with it anymore." she slowly shook her head. "i can't deal with being alone, i can't deal with my life, and i can't deal with my family and their d**n problems. i mean.." brooklyn paused. "my dad has another kid and it's not my mothers.."

he watched as she attempted to wipe some of the tears away. only to have more stream down her face only moments later. logan hated seeing her like this, so weak. so vulnerable. that just wasn't brooklyn. so without thinking he wrapped his arms around her as he listened to her speak. easily lifting her up and pulling her towards him. only to place a hand on her back and rub gently as she continued to speak. with his listening, very concerned. this didn't sound very good. not very good at all. and he could tell that it was hurting brooklyn, badly. and that was hard to do.
logan's eyes widened as he heard brooklyn say that her father had another child, that was not her mother's. seriously? that was horrible. he could only imagine what she going through. she had said that her mother had left a few days ago... he imagined this was why. logan couldn't imagine being in her place, it would probably hurt him that his dad could have done that to the family that he supposedly "loved." now he knew the reason behind brooklyn's pain. he understood it completely. but all he wanted to do was to help her, although he didn't really no how.
there wasn't anything he could do. it all rested in her mother and father's hands. no one else. however, he still wanted to ease the pain. it sucked obviously, but he couldn't believe brooke was thinking that way. so after a pause he responded, pulling her closer to his chest, pushing her brunette hair out of her face. "you're not alone.." he began. "i'm here brook, and i will help you through this in anyway that i possibly can." logan continued. the last time he had seen brooklyn cry was probably when she was around seven years old. that was it, so all of this was still very unusual.
"your parent's will get through this." logan tried to reassure her. "they love each other, but your mother probably wants to calm down, and in the midst of her anger forgot about that." he said. trying to make her believe what he said, even though he wasn't sure if it was true. "everything's going to work out... in time." he said, his blue eyes looking down at her, concerned. " everything is going to be okay." he said. his confusing feelings for his best friend, momentarily forgotten as he tried to comfort her.

brooklyn felt logan's arms wrap around her body as he pulled her closer to him, but she didn't bother to object. when she was in his arms at that very second, it gave her a bit of hope and made her actually feel safe. it made her feel like someone around her actually cared about her, and right then, she knew that someone like logan would never hurt her. she let out a deep breath before slowly bringing her head down to rest on logan's shoulder, feeling her tears well up in her eyes before slowly closing them, staying silent for a few minutes. surprisingly, she liked the feeling of being in his arms, which was something new to her, but those thoughts quickly went away went she heard him speak.
slowly shaking her head, brooklyn raised her head off of logan's chest, looking into his blue eyes as tears streamed down her face. "i am though. no one even understands me anymore. and you'd think that my siblings would be there for me, cause i've always been there for them, but they're not. they act like nothing is wrong, when everything is. i try to be strong and act like everything's going to be okay but it's not." she looked down at her lap as tears made there way down her face, before looking back up at logan. "this is why i'm so lucky to have you, logan. you're the one who is actually there for me and who actually understands me."
brooklyn instantly shook her head after logan spoke. "but they won't," she said, wiping her tears away. "he cheated on her and never told her for twenty years. he got some girl, who my mom hated, pregnant and never bothered to mention to her, or even us. if he loved then he wouldn't of done that." brooklyn pulled the sleeve of her sweater up and wiped her rosy cheeks. she really wanted to believe everything that logan was saying, cause it sounded so good in her head, but she just couldn't. she let out a deep breath, before sniffling. "it's not though. it's never going to be..."
she let out a deep breath as she stared down at her tear-stained sleeve, before sniffling. "y'know, ever since i found out what happened, i've just been hoping that i'd wake up and find out that this was all just a crazy nightmare, and that everything would be perfectly fine like it was before." she let out another deep breath, before looking up at logan. "but i know that when i wake up it'll all be the same; my dad will still be a cheating jerk, my mom will still me a wreck, and my life won't be the same."
